Cape Cod, Massachusetts
fulfilling a dream come true.

This c.1870's rare timber frame monitor barn moved from Ontario, Canada to Truro, MA. Makes a wonderful barn to guest and workshop quarters.

Barn underwent full modification to accommodate client specifications. Old barn relocated to Cape Cod area fits well with existing 17th & 18th century homes.

Old barn frames offer warm and stunning view of craftsmanship done long ago. Old barn conversions can be found in many other uses.

Martha's Vineyard Island, Massachusetts

Old hay storage barn from farmland to Island's summer spot.

This c.1859 hay barn was moved from Upstate New York to Chappaquiddick Island to become a dream summer home. It was an interesting trip, needing both large and small ferries to bring this barn onto the island.

This barn underwent several major modifications and restoration works. We have a CSL on board which is required by state of MA when doing any type of construction or remodeling.

Barn's overall height has been lowered by shortening the posts on the first floor, as well as shortening the queen posts on the second floor to meet town's building code.

Chesterfield, Missouri

Large Oak Ohio barn saved from demolition

This c.1860's Ohio barn moved just outside the St. Louis area. Barn once moved as a whole during the 1920's over a mile across fields and ditches by means of rollers and cribbing.

Our barns often sit on new stone foundations,  and crucial outside dimensions are measured at barn's tie beam and rafter plates prior to dismantling, ensuring accurate foundation.

Most of our barns get new sheathings using traditional wide pine boards and using traditional cut nails that are still being made today.

Bedford, New York

Old Ohio barn makes long trip to replace long lost barn for old New York home not far from NYC.

This c.1865 threshing hay barn with hewn oak timbers gets a second chance at life as a garage and workshop area.

Barn underwent major downsizing to replace original barn size. Massive 10" hewn oak beams found in good condition.

Old barn can get re-sheathed using old barn boards installed over a new exterior shell.

Little Compton, Rhodes Island

Old barn make journey to Newport, RI area for summer home.

Old c.1840's Canadian hay barn found new home some 600 miles from original site. Old barn timbers are properly de-nailed and clean prior to delivery.

Stress skin panel works well on old barns. It is highly recommended that roof panels get installed vertically so to transfer heavy  loads onto roof purlins and rafter plates.

This barn to home conversion was published in Architectural Digest in their June 2008 issue. Barn's front exterior wall was constructed of local field stones which gives a traditional, Pennsylvania barn look.
